Martha Ivey was born in 1822, probably in Georgia. The earliest record for her is for a marriage in Warren County in 1842 to George Washington Ivey. This may have been her second marriage. They had 5 boys and 2 girls. George died 4 years after the birth of their youngest daughter.

She lived in Warren County until her death in 1883 at the age of 61.

Joseph Greene was born in 1853 in Georgia, probably in Hancock County, to Joseph Whitfield Greene and Sarah Elizabeth Watts. He was the oldest child out of 6 children, with 4 brothers and 1 sister.

He married Sarah Smith when he was 35 years old and they had 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls, His last child was born when he was about 48 years old. Census records indicate he was a farmer.

He died in 1915 at about 61 years old. His wife died 10 years later.
