Matthew Harris Ivey, my paternal great-grandfather, born in 1843, was a farmer all of his life. He was born, raised, married and died in Warren County, Georgia. His father, George Washington Ivey, was the oldest child of Sterling Pate Ivey and only son of Susan Myrick.
He married a 19 year old local girl, named Drucilla, in 1867, and together they had 7 children, 3 girls and 2 boys, over the next 19 years.
Matthew died at 71 years old in 1915 and is buried in Warren County, Georgia. His wife outlived him by 15 more years.
